Introducing Jo Stein

Psychologist/Behaviour Support Practitioner

Jo Stein

About Jo Stein

Jo is a Registered psychologist and behaviour support practitioner with 4 years of experience. She offers a warm, client-centred, and non-judgemental approach to therapy and behaviour support, guided by the belief that meaningful change happens when care is tailored to the individual. Her focus is on understanding who each person is, what they hope to gain, and how best to work together to achieve those goals.

From the outset, she takes the time to understand what clients are hoping to gain from therapy or behaviour support. Together, she builds a shared understanding of goals and adapts her approach to suit each person’s unique preferences, communication style, and pace. She places a strong emphasis on open and honest communication and actively welcomes feedback at any stage. If something isn’t working or needs to shift, she encourages open dialogue so that clients always feel heard and respected.

As both a psychologist and behaviour support practitioner, she is neuroaffirming, collaborative, and deeply committed to creating safe and respectful spaces where clients feel genuinely supported. She is transparent about what the course of therapy or behaviour support might look like and values ongoing conversations about how to make the work together as meaningful and effective as possible.

Having grown up on a small tourist island, she has always found peace and joy near the ocean, which remains her happy place. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, writing, and hiking—anything that connects her with nature and provides time for reflection.

She is passionate about delivering high-quality, personalised care and considers it a privilege to support people as they navigate challenges, build new skills, and move toward the life they want. She has deep respect for the courage it takes to begin therapy or behaviour support and strives to ensure that the process feels safe, supportive, and empowering every step of the way.
