Functional Capacity Assessments
A Functional Capacity Assessment helps identify how a person’s disability impacts their daily life, independence, safety, mobility, self-care, home routines, community access, and support needs. Our Occupational Therapists complete person-centred assessments and provide clear, evidence-based recommendations to help participants, families, Support Coordinators, and the NDIS better understand what supports may be required.

Frequently Asked Questions
A Functional Capacity Assessment is completed by an Occupational Therapist to understand how a person manages daily activities and what support they may need to live more safely and independently.
NDIS participants may need one when their support needs have changed, when they are preparing for a plan review, or when evidence is needed to support therapy, equipment, home modification, or daily living supports.
An OT may look at self-care, mobility, communication, home routines, emotional regulation, community access, safety, sensory needs, and the level of help required from others.
