About Jaye Melville

Jaye is an Advanced Behaviour Support Practitioner with a background in Psychology and over 7 years of experience supporting children, young people, and adults with diverse and complex needs. He began his career as a support worker before progressing into an advanced behaviour support practitioner, giving him a strong foundation in both hands-on practice and advanced Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) frameworks and strong knowledge of restrictive practices.

Jaye specialises in the assessment, development, and implementation of comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans grounded in evidence-based PBS principles. He takes a person-centred, quality-of-life focused approach, working collaboratively with participants, families, and multidisciplinary teams to understand the underlying drivers of behaviour and develop practical, ethical, and meaningful strategies that promote safety, independence, dignity, and wellbeing.

He has extensive experience working across a broad range of behavioural presentations, including complex, high-risk, and forensic contexts, and is highly skilled in conducting thorough functional behaviour assessments. Jaye is particularly known for translating complex clinical information into clear, strengths-based, and easy-to-implement plans that support consistency and confidence across care teams.

Outside of his clinical work, Jaye values health, creativity, and community. He enjoys staying active, spending time in nature, and engaging in creative projects, reflecting his belief in balance, self-expression, and overall wellbeing as essential components of a fulfilling life.
