Positive behaviour support in Buderim and the Kawana corridor
NDIS-Registered Positive Behaviour Support with Immediate Capacity
Capability Support Services provides NDIS positive behaviour support in Buderim, Sippy Downs, Kawana Waters, Birtinya and Mountain Creek. Our registered practitioners support children, teens and adults with assessments, behaviour support plans and team training, including people moving home after a hospital stay or starting study, work or independent living.
Mobile Behaviour Support Services Across Sunshine Coast
Buderim is one of the Sunshine Coast’s largest residential areas, and the Kawana corridor is home to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in Birtinya and the University of the Sunshine Coast at Sippy Downs. That makes this area a hub for young people and adults at times of big change.
We help participants and their supports through those transitions with plans that are clear, respectful and easy to follow.
- Leaving hospital: a behaviour support plan ready for home, so the move back is safer and calmer.
- Teens and young adults: support for school-leaving, study at UniSC, first jobs and new routines.
- Complex needs: autism, intellectual disability, acquired brain injury and psychosocial disability, including plans with restrictive practices.

Positive behaviour support Buderim: frequently asked questions
Who provides NDIS positive behaviour support in Buderim?
Capability Support Services is a registered NDIS provider delivering positive behaviour support in Buderim, Sippy Downs and the Kawana corridor. Our practitioners visit homes, SIL houses and community settings, with telehealth for reviews.
Can you help someone returning home from hospital?
Yes. We can work with the hospital team and family before discharge, review what has changed, and prepare a behaviour support plan so supports at home are ready on day one. Ask your support coordinator to include us in discharge planning.
Do you support teenagers and young adults?
Yes. We support teens and young adults through school-leaving, study, work and moving out of home. Plans focus on building skills and independence, and the young person is involved in decisions about their own support.
Is positive behaviour support funded by the NDIS?
Yes. Positive behaviour support is usually funded from the Improved Relationships budget in your NDIS plan, listed as Specialist Behaviour Support. It can be used if your plan is self-managed, plan-managed or NDIA-managed, as we are a registered NDIS provider (registration 4-JFXPAFQ).
How long does a behaviour support plan take?
Where restrictive practices are used, NDIS rules require an interim behaviour support plan within 1 month and a comprehensive plan within 6 months. Without restrictive practices, most comprehensive plans are completed within 6 to 12 weeks, depending on how often we can observe and meet with your support team.
What does an Advanced Behaviour Support Practitioner mean?
The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission assesses behaviour support practitioners at four levels: Core, Proficient, Advanced and Specialist. An Advanced practitioner is approved to support people with more complex needs, including plans that involve restrictive practices.
Do I need a referral for behaviour support?
No GP referral is needed. Participants, families, support coordinators, plan managers and SIL providers can refer directly using our online referral form or by calling 1800 299 399. You just need behaviour support funding in the NDIS plan.
